Description

Parliament of Singapore is looking for a Parliamentary Officer for Parliamentary Clerks Department that is responsible for maintaining records of proceedings of the House and its Select Committees, examine Bills, questions for oral/written answers, Motions, petitions and other papers for presentation to ensure conformity with the House’s rules prescribed in the Standing Orders. 

The responsibilities include: 

  • Manage the sittings and meetings of Parliament
  • Process the Business of Parliament, including questions, Bills and motions according to the Standing Orders
  • Advise stakeholders on parliamentary procedures and practices, including preparation and circulation of parliamentary documents, exclusive to parliamentary business
  • Liaise with internal and external stakeholders to facilitate parliamentary conferences and visits
  • Travel overseas as part of parliamentary delegations and organise inter-parliamentary events
  • Contribute to organisational excellence programmes and initiatives
  • Participate in departmental and agency-wide projects as and when assigned 

The candidate should have:

  • Possess a degree, preferably in law
  • Minimum 2 – 3 years of working experience
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Office 
  • Good aptitude and proficiency in utilizing digital tools for communication and collaboration, including video conferencing, development and management of in-house systems and apps
  • Possess strong interpersonal and communications skills with the ability to engage stakeholders at all levels 
  • Strong analytical skills and meticulous
  • Able to multitask and work under tight deadlines
  • Able to work independently and in teams
  • Able to travel as part of parliamentary delegation
  • Only Singaporeans need apply
