Description
Resource Law
Resource Law is the formal law alliance partner of Reed Smith, an international law firm with more than 31 offices and 1,700 lawyers across the United States, Europe, the Middle East and Asia. The formal law alliance between the two entities provides a single, seamless platform for clients in corporate, corporate regulatory, commercial and financial transactions, restructuring and insolvency, insurance, employment, real estate, intellectual property, technology and digital infrastructure, and data protection and privacy.
Resource Law acts for domestic and international clients, with particular strength in the shipping, energy and natural resources, financial services, technology and life sciences sectors.
Our practice groups comprise lawyers who are leaders in their local jurisdictions and in their respective disciplines, operating with a global perspective. Whether a client's matter is purely domestic or multi-jurisdictional, we practise as one firm, delivering consistent execution across our 31 offices. We are driven by long-standing client relationships and by understanding each client's business and culture, which allows us to deliver pragmatic and commercially useful advice.
We have two openings.
1. Banking and Finance (junior to mid-level)
The successful candidate will work closely with partners and the wider finance team on complex financing matters. The role involves advising international and regional banks, private credit providers, funds, export credit agencies, lessors, sponsors and asset owners across asset finance (shipping and aviation), project finance, corporate and acquisition finance, leveraged finance, private credit, fund-related facilities, structured and trade finance, and green and sustainability-linked lending, together with related restructuring and enforcement work across Asia.
Prior experience in banking and finance, asset finance, project finance, leveraged or acquisition finance, or restructuring will be favourably considered. Proficiency in Chinese is an advantage.
2. Technology, Intellectual Property and Data (mid to senior level)
We are building capability to support client demand in AI, digital infrastructure and data. The role covers technology transactions and outsourcing; data centre and digital infrastructure projects, including development, colocation, hyperscale, power and connectivity arrangements; AI procurement, licensing and governance; data protection and cross-border data transfer; and the technology and IP aspects of M&A, financing and joint venture transactions.
The successful candidate will work directly with partners and clients, and will have scope to shape the practice as it develops. Candidates should have relevant experience gained at a reputable firm or in-house, ideally with exposure to cross-border technology or data centre work.
Regulatory experience in Singapore data protection, and familiarity with the broader Asian regulatory landscape, will be an advantage, as will proficiency in Chinese.
Both roles
These roles suit lawyers seeking long-term career development, increased responsibility, and day-to-day partner and client contact.
Interested applicants should write to: Contact@ResourceLawAsia.com, enclosing a cover letter and an updated resume.
