Associate (Energy Disputes Team)

Description

Must: (1) be Singapore-qualified (1 to 3 PQE), (2) have at least a high 2:1 (or Latin honours equivalent) from an SILE-approved local or overseas law school, (3) enjoy early oral advocacy, and (4) be able to travel for work.

Fossils and renewables disputes experience preferred but not essential. These can be taught. What's more essential is team work ethic, intellect, attention to detail, and instinct.

We also function from time to time as external general counsel to companies. The ability to be commercial and quick, on top of being legally astute, is important.

The Associate may be expected to

1. be lead counsel on a number of cases, handling cross-examination and oral submissions by themselves.
2. serve as Tribunal Secretary on arbitrations, common law and civilian.
3. take on DIFC (Dubai International Financial Centre) law matters and work on DIFC Court litigations, in addition to Singapore litigations and arbitrations.
4. exert leadership in thought and institutional forms early, regionally and internationally.
