Training Contracts
We are seeking a highly motivated and diligent Trainee to join our Syariah law practice. This position offers aspiring legal professionals an opportunity to gain hands-on experience in Syariah law, particularly in matters relating to Muslim family law, estate planning, and inheritance under the Administration of Muslim Law Act (AMLA).
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in legal research, case preparation, and drafting legal documents related to Syariah law matters.
- Support lawyers in handling divorce, inheritance, custody, and other Syariah law cases.
- Attend and observe Syariah Court proceedings, mediation sessions, and client consultations.
- Draft affidavits, cause papers, and correspondences under supervision.
- Liaise with clients, government agencies, and other stakeholders as required.
- Assist in preparing presentations and materials for community outreach and legal education on Syariah law.
- Perform administrative and case management duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- A law graduate or a current Relevant Legal Training (RLT) or Practice Training Contract (PTC) trainee.
- Strong interest in Syariah law and family law practice in Singapore.
- Excellent research, drafting, and analytical skills.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- High level of professionalism, integrity, and discretion in handling sensitive legal matters.
- Proficiency in Malay and/or Arabic is an advantage but not a requirement.
