Practice Trainee, Litigation (2027 / 2028)

Ling Law Corporation is accepting applications for Practice Trainees commencing in 2027 and 2028 who have a genuine interest in litigation and contentious work.

What We Offer

  • S$3,000 per month;
  • direct training and mentorship from the Managing Director;
  • early exposure to clients, case strategy, Court and advocacy;
  • substantive involvement in high-stakes, high-value and interesting disputes;
  • a focused caseload rather than volume work; and
  • the opportunity to learn how litigation matters are run from beginning to end.

Our matters are varied, often unusual and rarely boring. Recent work includes military court trials and appeals, complex matrimonial disputes, scam and money laundering prosecutions involving cryptocurrency and cross-border movements, shareholder disputes, contentious estates, employment disputes, protection from harassment matters, insolvency and commercial claims.

The Role

You will work closely with our lawyers and, with appropriate supervision, be involved in:

  • legal research and case analysis;
  • reviewing and preparing evidence;
  • assisting with pleadings, affidavits, submissions and correspondence;
  • attending client conferences and witness preparation;
  • preparing for hearings, trials, mediations and negotiations; and
  • Court attendances and observing advocacy.

Who We Are Looking For

We are looking for someone who:

  • has a genuine interest in litigation and contentious work;
  • thinks clearly and writes well;
  • is meticulous, curious and willing to learn;
  • takes pride in producing high-quality work;
  • is dependable and receptive to feedback; and
  • is technologically confident and comfortable using digital and AI tools.

Application

Please send us your CV, academic transcripts, preferred commencement period and availability, together with a short covering email telling us about yourself and why you are interested in litigation.
