Role Description

This is a full-time Trainee role based in Singapore, with a hybrid work arrangement that allows some work-from-home flexibility. The Trainee will assist in managing a range of contentious and non-contentious matters, including legal research, drafting pleadings, contracts, opinions, and correspondence. Daily responsibilities include reviewing documents, preparing case summaries, attending client meetings, and supporting senior lawyers in hearings, negotiations, and strategic case planning. The role also involves liaising with clients and external stakeholders, organizing case files, and ensuring timelines and procedural requirements are met. The Trainee is expected to contribute to a respectful team environment, be open to mentorship, and demonstrate a commitment to professional growth and high-quality client service.

Qualifications

  • Strong legal research and writing skills, including the ability to analyze statutes, case law, and complex fact patterns.
  • Competence in drafting legal documents such as pleadings, contracts, opinions, and formal correspondence.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills for interacting with clients, colleagues, and external stakeholders.
  • Organizational and time-management abilities to handle multiple matters, meet deadlines, and maintain accurate records.
  • Capacity to work collaboratively in a team, receive feedback constructively, and contribute to a respectful workplace culture.
  • LL.B or equivalent law degree from a recognised institution. Eligibility for admission to the Singapore Bar upon completion of training and admission requirements is required.
  • Integrity, attention to detail, and a demonstrated commitment to client-focused, ethical legal practice.
  • Prior internship or experience in litigation is an advantage but not strictly required; willingness to learn is essential.
